Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
We are very pleased to let you know that Dr. Tupman Family Dentistry accepts CDCP.
What is Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The Canada Dental Care Plan, which began rolling out in December 2023 and will slowly expand to include more age groups, is a federally funded government program meant to provide dental coverage to Canadians without existing dental benefits who have less than a $90,000 per year household income.
Who is eligible to apply?
Seniors aged 65+ = December 2023
Adults with a valid disability tax credit certificate = June 2024
Children under the age of 18 = June 2024
All remaining eligible Canadian residents = 2025
What services are covered?
Examples of dental services that may be covered under the Canada Dental Care Plan when recommended by an oral health professional, include:
- preventive services, including scaling (cleaning), sealants and fluoride
- diagnostic services, including examinations and x-rays
- restorative services, including fillings
- endodontic services, including root canal treatments
- prosthodontic services, including:
- complete dentures, and
- partial removable dentures
- periodontal services, including deep scaling
- oral surgery services, including extractions
Note: Some oral health care services will require preauthorization.
